No wonder Iran wanted to cut off negotiation dialogue with the US...who can talk serously with a bunch of pinballs that are unpredictable and all over the place? The only thing predictable about the US is its unpredictability.
I cannot see a serious, prepared, respectful team of negotiators from the US sitting down with Iranian officials to agree to their (Iran's) firm conditions.
The US and Israel started the war without provocation from Iran...nor from Lebanon or Gaza either. Iran has been the superior combatant in this 100+-day war. The Strait of Hormuz was free and open to commerce before the US slammed in. Israel and the US target civilians, medical personnel, funerals, and schools--from universities to little schoolgirls. Iran's targets are military ones.
Why then should the US expect Iran to accept all of the US's demands?!

Is it any coincidence that Trump's announcement that he has "cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening" was just in time for the SpaceX IPO, one of the largest ever in stock market history? Is it coincidence Trump's post is in line with the interests of the mkt manipulators & speculators around his Admin. Both the S&P and NASDAQ recovered by approx 2% right after this announcement. Based on experience one should be doubtful peace is really at hand.
Seems more like the usual market manipulation: gonna bomb Iran - oil up, stocks down; nevermind (Emily Littela SNL voice) - oil down, stocks up. His insider cronies make big bucks in the futures markets.
