Iran needs a maritime lawyer to block the U.S. in an international court and get reparations for illegal activity related to bombing and seizing Iran’s ship.
We all know how the ridiculous lies justifying this illegal war has morphed. What Mossad and the CIA did after Bessent initiated sanctions that hurt people in Iran is horrifying. They burned police officers, who were unarmed at the protest. They stopped people at checkpoints and murdered them in cold blood. They caught busses of people on fire and burned the people to death. They shot police officers and peaceful protesters. There’s a lot more and it’s horrific. You know the rest of the lies.
Iran needs to immediately bring this to an international body to change this war into a treaty like The Montreux Convention regarding the Regime of the Straits.
It states:
When Turkey is at war, or feels threatened by a war, it may take any decision about the passage of warships as it sees fit.
The Montreux Convention is an international agreement governing the Bosporus and Dardanelles Straits in Turkey.
It was signed on 20 July 1936 and went into effect on 9 November 1936. The treaty addressed the question about who should control the strategically vital Strait between the Black and Mediterranean seas. This is a natural waterway, like the Strait of Hormuz.
Turkey receives a management fee. Iran could have been getting a management fee for the last 85-years.
Faith moves mountains. Our Heavenly Father will work through us to fix the injustice in Iran. Many nations and people globally endure injustice. Progress can be like age. Day to day we don’t see change. Everything is changing.
What we do for others we do for ourselves is another way to think about doing unto others and karma. We are not always able to help ourselves, but there is always someone we can help. As we all help the people we can, the burdens we all carry are lightened. When you feel disheartened, powerless or afraid, look around and find a person to say a kind word to. Help someone. That could be a couple of dollars for a homeless person or listening to a neighbor.
A large group of veterans were arrested today in Washington protesting this unjust and immoral war. It’s expensive to be arrested and a sacrifice. So many people are making sacrifices to help others. The world is improving.
It’s easy to feel hopeless. Our emotions are like the weather. ❤️ When there is a blizzard and we are snowed in, remember spring will come again.
Desire to buy our debt fell off a cliff. Bessent just bought back bonds in a greater amount than in all of U.S. history. As bonds mature, our allies are cashing out. It could signal a protest of our illegal activities in Iran. It could signal lack of faith in our ability to pay our bills.
We spend all of the money we collect in taxes by May. We borrow to float running the government for the rest of the year. We are are on track to be $2.5-million in the red if we leave Iran tomorrow.
We cannot afford the Iran war. The administration doesn’t even have an estimate of direct costs. The administration doesn’t have a budget.
We are going to owe Iran money for reconstruction just like we had to pay in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The total direct and indirect cost of the Afghanistan war was $6.5 trillion for military costs, reconstruction costs and interest.
U.S. budget estimates of direct costs of the Iraq war were $50- to $60-billion.
The actual direct costs of the Iraq war were 50,000 times greater than the estimate.
Social security is $1.5-trillion a year.
The cost of the Afghan war was 4.3x larger than our social security annual budget.
If passed, we will have a $1.5-trillion dollar War Department budget.
40% of the total U.S. budget will be consumed by social security and the war budget.
We are a driving at a brick wall and no one wants to tap the breaks.
The US has seized a ship that belongs to Iran, as it traveled in international waters...this is a crime. What has happened aboard the Touska? Were sailors hurt? Did US military take over operation of the ship, and steer it toward a US-friendly port?
The US Coast Guard followed a Russian tanker from the outskirts of the Caribbean into the North Atlantic, and then seized it--in international waters. The ship was taken to an English port, if I recall correctly, and the crew of mixed nationalities was held there. Those men were not released quickly.
Are there no consequences for piracy on the high seas? This was theft of two huge ships, and kidnapping of several men. Because the US has kidnapped the leader of a country and his wife--and no punishment has come down on the US, does the US take this as permission to kidnap at will? The US stole Iran's huge ship. Because this kind of act wasn't punished before, the US must think it can get away with it again. Wrong.
So Iran spent 25 years preparing for war with the “Great Satan” in order to ‘survive’ the war they knew was coming. But but, what they really want to do is build a nuclear missile to fire at the US/Israel so that the US/Israel can fire some of their 2000 warheads into Iran and wipe them off the face of the earth 🤔. Oops. All that meticulous planning and they overlooked that simple fact. This isn’t about that anymore than WMD’s was why we spent decades and Trillions attacking Iraq. Let’s take the reasons from the highest order down to the propaganda:
1) Global Hegemony and the USD. The US became the world’s only superpower with the fall of the Soviet Union. Its primary instrument of power was the USD as global reserve currency reinforced by the largest military (by far) in history with 900 bases around the world. The USD allows the US to ship its debt all over the world and to control international‘behavior’ by sanctioning ‘bad actors’ (some 100 plus in various forms). Thus, we have almost 40 trillion$ in debt. Erosion of the USD to a breaking point forces us to monetize our debt, execute severe austerity, face hyper stagflation and, well, kiss our sweet asses goodbye. Iran is a vital lynchpin in the counter dollar momentum as a vital link in China’s belt and road initiative, BRICS, and the GCC was the home of the petrodollar system. Big deal…existential to the West as well as Iran. If the bond market cracks it brings down a quadrillion in derivatives (the insane casino market that dwarfs all other markets…WWJD? 🙄).
Three simple anecdotes that I picked up over the years that I find very revealing: John Kerry on the JCPOA: “I may not be able to save the dollar”. Marco Rubio in 2022: “if we lose the dollar we won’t be able to sanction anyone”. Jamie Dimon (2026): Trump is doing all the right things in order to defeat Iran. Ahem. The entire international banking cartel is at stake.
2)Military Projection: “7 countries in 5 years”. The military in an empire protects its owner’s interests..transnational banks, corporations and markets. The Greater Israel project stemmed from a Rockefeller think tank plan to create a protectorate in the Middle East with Greater Israel on one pole and Saudi Arabia on the other. These plans lead to the Abraham Accords. That guaranteed Western primacy over the resources and the Petrodollar. That is ALL at risk.
3) Disabling the competition: destroying the economies of China/Russia. Russia in 2022 “turn the Ruble into rubble” and China through tariffs, oops, oil, oops? However possible? So far so bad.
4) Domestic politics (see 1,2,3 above and explain to me how this matters in context of a flailing empire.
5) the return of Jesus, Mohammad, or the first coming of the son of Yahweh or some deity figure (other than the Don) who can magically appear and sort this mess out. Welcome! Hosanna!
6) Whatever other constant nonsense that fills up the minds of the village idiots with tropes and memes and dopamine rushes.
There is a video from the US Navy that (allegedly) shows the guided missile destroyer USS Spruance firing at Iran's cargo ship, Touska. The camera is apparently aboard the Spruance. News stories say the destroyer followed the Touska for 6 hours, warning it to stop. Then a voice is heard (with some of the multple postings of the video) telling the Touska to evacuate its engine room. Firing commences from the Spruance's 5-inch MK-45 gun(s). The story then says the cargo ship was stopped, Marines landed on board, and the Touska was taken into custody. Trump is blaring that 'a USN missile blew a hole in the Iranian ship'.
Questions: 1. How could the crew on the Touska hear the order to evacuate engine room, when the destroyer was so far away? 2. What did the USN do with the big disabled cargo ship? Where is "custody", and how do they get a ship with one or more holes in its engine there? 3. This is from one of the stories: "Since the blockade’s commencement, U.S. forces have directed 25 commercial vessels to turn around or return to an Iranian port, CENTCOM added." The Touska was on its way to an Iranian port! See on Larry's map how close it was to the Bandar Abbas port in the Strait.
