At the meeting, Kostyukov handed over materials with decrypted routing data and the controller of a Ukrainian drone that was shot down over the Novgorod region on December 29 during a UAV attack on the Russian president's residence, according to the ministry.
"The decryption performed by the specialists of the Russian Federation's special services of the memory content of the navigation controllers of the unmanned aerial vehicles unequivocally confirmed that the target of the attack was the complex of buildings of the residence of the President of the Russian Federation in the Novgorod region," Kostyukov said.
"We want to give you the controller and the description of this controller made by our specialists. We believe that this step will allow us to remove all questions and will contribute to the establishment of the truth, " the head of the GRU said.
In footage released by the Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday, Kostyukov said that he had invited a representative of the U.S. military attaché in Moscow on an important matter.
"We would like to inform you. We have found the wreckage of the unmanned aerial vehicles that carried out this attack. Some of these unmanned aerial vehicles have well-preserved navigation systems and are technically sound," said the head of the GRU.
Earlier on Thursday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russia would provide the United States with materials confirming that the target of Ukraine's drone attack was the president's residence in the Novgorod region.
