Am I the only one appalled that one solitary individual gets to commit this nation to war? We have not had a single discussion in Congress on the issue of war with Iran. Not one peep.
I have a bad, bad feeling that the potential for disaster is quite high.
The will he or won't he is frustrating and worrisome. Reality, logic, amd morality say No! to an attack. But those three things are not the platform DJT operates on. He is told a fact, he doesn't accept the fact--his mind creates the reality he wants. He is malleable in Israel's hands. The combination of Trump's mindset and Israel's dictates is a dangerous thing.
Assumption 1. Trump authorises a full-scale attack on Iran;
Assumption 2. Nevertheless, despite incurring enormous losses of life and infrastructure, Iran succeeds in retaliating by wreaking havoc on U.S. bases in the Gulf and critical locales in Israel. Using missile and drone swarms too numerous to counter.
Conclusion: The U.S. demonstrates to countries Trump wants on America’s side in a concerted campaign to encircle China that the U.S. can’t actually protect them if they throw their lot in with him. Semper Infidelis.
Addendum 1. The myth of American military omnipotence is shattered decisively.
Assumption 2. Trump tried and convicted for reckless endangerment of the United States of America. Sentenced to a fate worse than death: a lifetime diet of humble pie.
Option 1 seems increasingly likely. Of course the op-ed pages will be full of how Trump is simply restoring the deal he scrapped eight years ago. True of course, but totally irrelevant. His fan base consists of the sort of people who don't remember what happened last week, much less eight years ago. Whut the heck is JCPOA anyway, some kind of DEI thang?
“it is his opinion that it will be something easily won.”
Imagine Iran easier than the victorious performance with Yemen, spectacular morons!
I can remember when trade wars were easy to win.
Good times!

Bully boy Trump just got another bloody nose - Ouch!
Always stand up to a bully - they just melt away!

I am hoping the delay is because Trump will announce an agreement with Iran at the SOTU speech tonight.
