Could it be that the Iranians stopped because of Strategic Restraint. The first train from China on the newly constructed line arrived in Iran the day before the Israelis bombed. Point being that while US & Israel sow mayhem and destruction there us another alliance constructively building for the future. All they need to do is stay OUT of a nuclear war with US/Nato.

Regards this asymetric warfare of decapitation, murder and infiltration - the US has the largest open border and two can play that game. A colour revolution is coming to a city near you in the US. It's the perfect cocktail of a summer of mostly 'peaceful' Democrat protests looting, burning and killing while Trump clamps down, while the Mexican cartels are armed with weapons from the Ukraine...from small beginnings...

One can guarantee that the US is currently seeded with a variety of covert sleeper cells with the express purpose of helping the US into a hot civil war. At such time it will be appropriate to break out the equivalent of Russian, Chinese & Iranian popcorn and watch the show.

Very speculative of you but such are predictions. Presuming some U.s.a. enemy is going to take up U.s.a. covert policies even as the U.s.a. and Israel show those policies either never worked in the long run or no longer work. And I know no one who can guarantee (prove) the U.s.a. is seeded with sleeper cells or that such cells would be necessary in a crumbling empire. The U.s.a. has proven it is very good at destroying itself with nothing more arcane or deadly than plain old corruption eating at government structures. There is no sort of deadly covert or overt cop the U.s.a. cannot produce 1000's of virtually overnight (we have goons like we have guns) Already we have U.s. corporate legislators destroying education systems, medical safety nets, the environment and any scraps of pretense alleging democracy is worth the bother of defending while billionaires are pumping money out of country. But, as suggested, maybe all we can do is watch the show til they come for us.

Bibi has been pushing for regime change in Iran for decades. He will not be satisfied until it happens. Why is regime change even more important today? From 2013 until 2023, Israel enjoyed a steady stream of cheap energy from Iraqi Kurdistan. The Turks stopped the flow of that oil two years ago when they lost the arbitration decision with Baghdad. Bibi knows that if he can get regime change in Iran that he should be able to restart the old oil deal with Iran that supplied cheap Iranian oil to Israel from the 1960s until the end of 1994.

Fair point, I suppose the thing from a geopolitical perspective, if you're not an American, is that it's been a long time since the US experienced the impact of war - the Civil War and in part 9/11. The thinking is that if this lot can experience the terror of war and cruel insanity of their own foreign policy style they might sane up a bit.

Personally I prefer it if the USA didn't go down the gurgler and could find a constitution based balance that cared more for its own people, infrastructure and institutions of democracy.

At the end of WW2 my youngest daughters great grandmother wheeled her daughter in a pram in front of the red army, across Germany to reach American lines - there was a reason for that. US needs to rediscover its goodness and soul. Then there's the prolific culture and the fact you're entertaining as hell, it's in the DNA.
