I don't find the theory put forward by other commentators implausible, namely that the objectives of this operation were neither military nor foreign policy in nature. If the objectives were domestic (freeing Trump from pressure from AIPAC and the Israel-above-all lobby), then they could well have been achieved, couldn't they?

I had read about GBU-57 "bunker-buster" bombs before. I also had read that B2 bombers could carry two of the bb bombs at a time. If, as Miss Leavitt says, 14 of the bb bombs were dropped on the 3 nuclear plant sites, that means the US deployed 7 B2s in one mission--just under one half of its B2s. At a cost of $2 billion dollars for each bomber, and "in September 1997, each hour of B-2 flight necessitated 119 hours of maintenance"**...that is one big-bucks attack!

It is certain that Trump pulling out of the JCPOA precipitated this whole debacle. This entire charade could have been cooked up with the Iranians to put the focus on Israel. "See, we did our job. We destroyed Fordow!" It is not a lie to say we obliterated Iran's nuclear bomb program, when they never had one to begin with. Kudos to Trump for preventing a loss of life and getting the ceasefire out of Israel.
